The Birth Story of Texas Pelvic Health

Texas Pelvic Health started with a simple belief: Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you have access to specialized healthcare.

Where It All Began…

Long before Texas Pelvic Health existed, I began my career as a physical therapist at Arkansas Pelvic Health in Little Rock, Arkansas.

My husband, Jordan, and I had both moved to Arkansas to attend Harding University. I graduated a year before he did, which gave me the opportunity to begin my career in Little Rock while he finished school. From day one, my career was completely specialized in pelvic health, and I very quickly fell in love with it.

I loved the specialty, the patients, and the opportunity to help people with problems that are incredibly common but so often overlooked, dismissed, or simply not talked about.

As Jordan got closer to graduation, we started having more conversations about what we wanted our life to look like long-term. We knew we wanted to start a family someday, we both wanted meaningful careers, and we knew we didn't want to raise our children three or four hours away from our families.

So, we decided to go home.

Bringing Specialized Care Back to East Texas…

Jordan and I were both born and raised in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Growing up in a smaller community shaped a lot of what I wanted my career to eventually become.

There are more healthcare resources available in Sulphur Springs today than there were when we were growing up, but as kids, receiving specialized healthcare almost always meant getting in the car. Our families regularly had to drive an hour or more toward the Metroplex to see specialists.

That experience stayed with me.

One of my biggest missions as a healthcare provider is to help bring specialized care to smaller and rural communities, because patients shouldn't have to live in a major city to receive high-quality, specialized treatment.

Pelvic health felt like the perfect place to start.

So in May 2022, Jordan and I moved home to Sulphur Springs, and I opened the doors to Texas Pelvic Health the very next day.

I saw five patients on my first day.

To me, that said everything.

There was a need for pelvic floor physical therapy in our community, and people were ready for this kind of care to exist closer to home.

From One Small Office to Three Communities

From there, Texas Pelvic Health grew organically.

My schedule filled, word spread, and I began developing relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers throughout East Texas.

One community kept showing up on my schedule: Canton.

By late 2023, I regularly had eight to ten patients driving from the Canton area all the way to Sulphur Springs for appointments.

Eventually, we were offered the opportunity to begin seeing patients inside Euphoria Chiropractic in Canton by Dr. Kaitie.

Texas Pelvic Health officially had its second location.

Opening Canton felt especially meaningful because it brought us right back to the reason I started Texas Pelvic Health in the first place: bringing specialized healthcare into communities where patients would otherwise have to travel to receive it.

Not long after opening Canton, another opportunity came along that I wasn't necessarily looking for.

I reached out to Dr. Noe at Beyond the Bump Chiropractic in Rockwall simply because I wanted to meet another provider who cared for many of the same populations we did.

Within seconds of meeting her, she asked if I would be interested in sharing space with her in Rockwall.

And just like that, Texas Pelvic Health had its third location.

Texas Pelvic Health Today

Today, Texas Pelvic Health has grown from one physical therapist opening the doors of a brand-new practice in her hometown to a small but mighty team serving patients across Sulphur Springs, Canton, and Rockwall.

Patients come to see us from across East Texas, the Metroplex, the Texarkana area, Oklahoma, and everywhere in between.

But even as we've grown, what matters most to us hasn't changed.

We believe pelvic floor dysfunction deserves to be taken seriously.

We believe patients deserve time to tell their whole story.

We believe specialized healthcare should be available outside of major cities.

And we believe you deserve a provider who listens to you, believes you, educates you, and gives you a plan for moving forward.

It is an incredible privilege that patients trust us with some of the most personal parts of their lives every single day.

We absolutely love the communities we get to serve, the patients who walk through our doors, and the work we get to do.

And if you're looking for someone to help you navigate your pelvic health, we'd love to be part of your story, too.
